THE BRIEF
Set within a huge rural landscape in the heart of the South Downs, our client enjoys beautiful views across the West Sussex countryside.
Working from home, they wanted to make the most of their outdoor space during both working hours and well-earned breaks. However, the open location meant the seating area was exposed to the sun throughout the day, with very little natural shade.
The aim was to create a comfortable, shaded area without compromising the stunning views or open feel of the garden.
OUR SOLUTION
Before measuring for the bespoke sail shade, the required posts were sourced and installed in their final positions. This allowed our design team to measure the completed fixing points accurately, ensuring the finished sail would achieve the perfect fit and tension.
We then designed and manufactured a bespoke 4-point sail shade, positioned to provide generous shade over the outdoor seating area.
A specialist solar control mesh helps reduce heat and UV while still allowing natural light and air to pass through. This keeps the space cool and comfortable while maintaining the beautiful views across the South Downs.
The finished sail shade has transformed the area into a practical outdoor retreat where our client can work, take a break or simply enjoy being outside.
With welcome protection from the summer sun, working from home can now mean working from the garden too.
