Canvas Building Panels

Extend the season and transform the use of your garden and outdoor space

Our garden canvas building panels are a revolutionary solution for construction and design projects. Whether you are an architect, contractor, designer, or DIY enthusiast, our canvas building panels offer a wide range of benefits and possibilities.

They are amongst our most-requested domestic solutions. Typically, these work well with existing timber buildings so whether you are looking to fully enclose your open fronted oak building, or simply increase the flexibility and usage options for any structure that is not currently enclosed, we have the solution that you are looking for.

We offer a wide range of optional features to suit individual needs and outdoor spaces, along with a multitude of different fastening methods.

Understanding your layout…

You may have a single oak-framed building, or a large multi-elevation oak-framed building with different height panels. To help us provide the best advice, we need to understand your layout. Sending some photos of your building if a great start!

SINGLE ELEVATION

Single Building

A single elevation is a popular choice for car ports, garages or garden pergolas.

This offers itself for a single internally or externally mounted full length building panel, to fully enclose the space.

MULTI ELEVATION

Double Building

A multi elevation can consist of two, three, four or however many supports you require.

We will design your building panels as one large integrated cover, featuring joiner panels on the middle posts, and two end panels to add the perfect finish.

In some cases we can design the panels to mount from the inside, depending on the oak structure inside.

HALF ELEVATION

Single Half Panel Building

A half wall is often a popular feature for oak buildings, especially in the garden or open space, acting as a wind defence, or a wall.

We can provide bespoke half panels, which still exposes the beauty of the half wall, but provides valuable protection from the elements when required.

Recommended Features

Popular and Practical Features

With over 30 years of experience designing, manufacturing, and installing canvas building panels, C&J Outdoors has identified the features that are most popular and effective for homes, gardens, and outdoor spaces. Our standard features are carefully selected to provide maximum functionality, durability, and style.

While we recommend these features based on their popularity, we always put you in control. Our team will discuss how you envision your panels working and what you aim to achieve, ensuring that every canvas building panel we deliver exceeds your expectations. Customise your panels to suit your outdoor space perfectly while benefiting from our tried-and-tested standard features.

SINGLE WINDOW

Single Panel 1 Window

Your C&J building panel as standard would feature one large half height window. For single panels which are extra wide we may be required to split the window to provide vital stability to the panel.

As standard you can opt for 90 degree corners or if you would like to protect the window from a diagonal  supporting oak beam you can opt for angled windows as shown in the image above.

ROLL-UP SECTION

Single Panel Roll Up

All building panels feature two vertical zips set approximately 30mm inside of the posts. This is to enable you to roll the panel up without having to remove the hardware installed into the oak post.

The bottom of the panel usually houses a stainless steel pole to weigh the panel down, but also to help keep the structure in the panel when rolling it up, especially single handed. Heavy duty straps and clips, allow the rolled fabric panel to be stored neatly at the top of your oak frame, until you are ready to lower it again.

Customise Your Panel

Add Zips, Doors, and Access Features

Every home, garden, and outdoor space is unique—and your canvas building panels should be too. At C&J Outdoors, we design our products to give you complete control over how each panel functions and looks. Depending on the orientation and purpose of the panel, you may choose to include features such as windows, zips, or additional access points, or you may opt for a simpler, more protective design.

With a wide range of customisation options, you can tailor every panel to suit your exact needs—whether for weather protection, improved access, added visibility, or enhanced functionality. Choose Your Fabric and Colour

There is a colour for every space

When it comes to selecting the correct fabric for your canvas building panels, there are two ranges we would recommend. Top Gun and Marine Acrylic Canvas are two 100% solution died acrylics, offering unmatched UV stability while providing protection from our unpredictable British weather.

Top Gun has a better resistance to abrasion due to due its polyester coating on both sides of the fabric and comes recommended for wider panels, especially when exposed to strong, windy conditions.

Both ranges offer more than 20 colours to suit your personal style and compliment your outdoor space. Click the links below to explore the ranges in more detail.

Fitting Your New Panels

Easy Self-Installation with Step-by-Step Guides

Our canvas building panels are designed for easy self-installation, with clear step-by-step instructions supplied based on your chosen attachment method. Most tools required—such as a step ladder, screwdriver or drill, and tape measure—are common household items, making the process simple and straightforward.

If you’d prefer professional help, we offer an installation service across most areas of West Sussex and Hampshire. This option ensures your panels are fitted securely and accurately, ideal for customers who may not have the time, tools, or experience to complete the installation themselves.

Installation costs vary depending on the number of panels and travel distance. To check availability or request this service, just let us know when you enquire.
