THE BRIEF
Our clients wanted to complete their outdoor space in Southsea, Hampshire, by adding shade to their existing timber pergola.
Their aim was to create a light and airy oasis for relaxing and entertaining. They wanted protection from the summer sun without making the pergola feel dark or enclosed.
A flexible solution was key, allowing them to enjoy both sunshine and shade.
OUR SOLUTION
We designed and installed a bespoke retractable pergola awning to fit the existing timber structure.
A solar control mesh was chosen to provide shade while still allowing natural light and air to pass through. This keeps the space bright, open and comfortable.
The awning runs along marine-grade stainless-steel tension wires and is operated using a simple manual pulley system. It can be extended for shade or neatly retracted when the clients want to enjoy the sunshine.
The result is a stylish and practical garden retreat, giving our clients the flexibility to enjoy their outdoor space throughout the warmer months.
