Simon Chapman
Managing Director
Simon joined the team at the start of 2022, and by his own admission is “loving it”! He has joined C&J bringing with him a wealth of knowledge from 32 years in the banking world with the intention of helping us grow!
So, having been thrown in at the deep end Simon has spent his time with all departments, learning the ropes and gaining knowledge and information from the staff which he intends to use to drive us forwards in all areas of the business.
When he does prize himself away from C&J, you will find him giving more of his time to the Sussex Army Cadets, hiking and walking…but it’s all worth it when the day ends with a curry and a beer!
Rachel Kingswell
Director
Rachel has been behind the scenes looking after the company and everyone in it for over 27 years! She treats C&J as her second family and one that she always tries to take good care of!
If there’s anything that needs doing, from recruitment to regulations, personnel to policies, she’s your lady. No two days are the same in her C&J world and will deal with whatever the company needs both today and in the future!
With such a busy life Rachel’s loves are simple ….family time, sunny days, friends and dreaming of house renovations whilst enjoying a nice G&T!
Emma Davies
Sales & Business Development Manager
Emma has put her heart and soul into the business since she joined in 2016, making it her priority to learn all that there is to know about the industry. From that she has gained a wealth of knowledge and she now makes selling our products look easy!
When she’s not working on new projects, networking, or doing what she does best selling to clients, you will find her enjoying quality time with her daughter, drinking the odd Sauvignon Blanc and looking after Sir Elton John (that’s the cat not the singer!).
Emma lives by the motto that “you can sleep when you are dead” which is handy when there’s not much time for sleep with such a busy work and home life!
Pete Wilkins
Production Manager
Pete has dedicated over 25 years to C&J after he joined in 1996! His commitment, hard work and passion for the company, the products and his team are unarguable. There really isn’t a job that he hasn’t been involved in and if he doesn’t know the answer then no-one will!
His best C&J skills, by his own admission, are promoting teamwork and providing motivation, which he provides both in bundles. He also provides us with a joke or two every day which some may say are not his best skill!!
When he finally shuts down from a busy day, you might find him watching You Tube, online gaming, or playing Old English Bowls (as long as it’s not sunny!). You may think he’s lost some of his hair due to the stresses of C&J life, but don’t worry he’s not had any since the age of 17!
Gavin Sharp
Senior Sales Executive
Gavin joined the team here at C&J at the start of 2022 and we are so glad to have him aboard! Gavin’s love of sailing brings heaps of benefits to his role at C&J. He understands the customer’s requirements first hand, and with his self-confessed skill of “talking” can build the perfect relationship with his clients to meet their needs.
Whilst enjoying a nice glass of red, listening to anything from Mozart to Meatloaf, he also likes to look at mad events, wondering if he should “give them a go”?! ..Well Gavin, with your life motto being “it is better to have tried and failed than never to have tried at all” – we all think you should go for it!!
Sally Hutchings
Senior Sales Administrator
The lovely Sally joined us in 2021 and is a self-confessed happy lady! She brings support and a smile every day to our staff and customers whilst looking after all of the company sales administration needs. Hardworking and reliable, with a ‘can do’ attitude to everything that comes her way!
Not only is administration one of Sally’s many skills, she also joins Helen and Jason in our Social Team, organising bowling nights, picnic days and parties when we all need a little break from the routine!
…and when she’s not looking after everyone here, she likes to take a springtime walk with Mojito and Harvey (Wallbanger)…her dogs, not cocktails! With a love of running, one day she hopes to run a half marathon too!
Dan Kingswell
Design and Installation
Dan has not only dedicated over 25 years to C&J since he joined in 1996 but in all conditions and environments. Some would think that spending every day on the boats would be enviable, but not all year round when it’s raining, snowing, and/or blowing a gale!
By his own admission Dan’s skill is attention to detail in every project he is involved in, and we couldn’t agree more. Another member of the team who’s experience, knowledge and commitment are invaluable and whom has earnt huge respect amongst the team.
When he does find time to relax, Dan’s perfect day would be to sit and watch Only Fools & Horses (again!) with a plateful of Pie & Mash or snoozing on a sun lounger in Turkey!
Jason Wilkins
Design & Production
Jason joined us in 2013 and with over 9 years’ experience in the company, from his initial time with in-house production, Jason transferred his skills to design and installation off-site… another dedicated member of the team who braves all weathers, environments and situations to ensure the job gets done!
By his own admission Jason says one of his best skills is making people laugh, so he’s always in competition with Pete and his jokes!
After a long day designing and installing many a cover, Jason loves to spend time with his family and would never say no to a quick game on the computer! He’s also partial to a pizza, burgers and sweets followed by a couple of games of football each week to run it all off!
Matt Lelliott
Manufacturing Technician
Matt has dedicated over 25 years to C&J since he joined our team in 1996! His eye for detail and quality is second-to-none and his commitment and reliability are, without doubt, undeniable.
It’s a good job that Matt loves to walk as he must have covered thousands of miles walking to and from work every day for so many years. There is always time for a quick coffee and few pages of his favourite book when he arrives before the busy day starts though!
When Matt isn’t finishing, checking, packing and despatching our products, he enjoys nothing more than a nice camping holiday with family, friends, and a nice cold beer!
Louise Bamforth
Sewing Machinist
Louise has been an invaluable member of the C&J family since she joined back in 2017 and she lives by the motto that “it’s only a piece of fabric, make it do what you want it to do”…and that’s why she produces such fabulous pieces of work.
Not only does Louise play the sewing machine beautifully, she also loves to play the piano. When she is not walking “naughty dog” Marlow, she can be found enjoying a well-earned glass of wine at the end of a busy week.
As a fashion fitter in her previous life, Louise has met many a rich and famous in Harrods, most of which mainly dressed in only their underwear!! Oooo errr!
