RECOMMENDATIONS
It is important to understand your space, wind direction and connection method before purchasing your sail shade.
Our production method is very similar to that of a traditional sailing yacht sail, therefore erecting a large expanse of fabric in an exposed garden could cause significant damage to itself and the surrounding space, if the inappropriate hardware and/or fabric are chosen.
Our Soltis Horizon 86 Mesh sail shades are brilliantly versatile and can be erected in almost any position: horizontal, vertical and pitched. They will block up to 93% of the heat when used outdoors, protect you from up to 86% of the suns powerful UV rays, while still allowing natural breeze to pass through the fabric. This will significantly reduce the pressure on your attachment points in moderate winds. Soltis Horizon 86 mesh is highly UV resistant and are strongly recommended for longer term, semi-permanent use in warmer seasons.
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
Our sail shades have been designed for fair weather environments. They are not designed to withstand extreme weather conditions and could cause significant damage to buildings and local spaces if they become detached. If warnings of extreme weather are announced, it is our recommendation to remove your sail shade temporarily. It is better to be safe than sorry!
Under no circumstances should a heat source be placed underneath a sail shade. BBQs, patio heaters, fire pits and any other heat sources should be positioned far away from your sail shade. The fabrics are not self-extinguishing or regulated as fire retardant.
